Dramatis Personae

It all comes down to the dogs. And Agility. And did I mention the dogs?

Blade, The Bee's Knees, co-protagonist is my six year old Border Collie. My very first.

Often sporting a Don Juan inspired do, don't let his seductive good looks fool you. He has a heart of pure gold. Born on a small farm in rural Minnesota he has never forgotten his humble roots, even with a successful career in Agility Stardom. Blade still remains one of the good ol' boys and enjoys down time curled up on the  dog bed or playing with a favorite ball.

Viper, Da Vipe, Rella, Britches, the other co-protagonist is my just turned three year old Agility Prodigy. Da Vipe hails from sunny California and often times finds himself in a bit of an identity crisis being the illegitimate son of a super hero and is known as being a bit of a party animal.

Much more outgoing then his older brother, Da Vipe tends to be a bit outspoken and has gotten into a few scuffles here and there with the paparazzi...

Growing up in the Agility spotlight, Da Vipe has a very much rebel-with-a-cause attitude towards agility and has not cooperated in reforming thus far. He prefers dock-diving or anything that includes barking. Barking is always good.

Spank, a round character of the sorts (literally), is my going-to-be 10 year old yellow Labrador Retriever. Not a fan of the camera (or spotlight for that matter) photos of her are few and far between. Completely contradictory her attitude is nowhere near what encompasses a usual Labrador's personality. Ok, she loves tennis balls. LOVES LOVES LOVES tennis balls. As far as people go though, if you're not worth her time, you're not worth her time.

Spank made brief appearances out in the Agility rings a few years ago and will re-debut every now and then but her main love is hunting. She's my go-to girl for all things involving birds and is a joy to hunt behind. Semi-retired for the most part, she pretty much does exactly what she wants!

Flint, retrieving extraordinaire, is a completely foil character in comparison to Spank. He too is a Labrador Retriever but of the black variety and out weighs Spank by almost 50 pounds. Never has he ever stepped foot into a performance ring, nor does he intend to. Trained for hunting he too enjoys days spent running in through fields chasing birds. He's dabbled in Obedience and has some stellar heeling moves, but his love is still BIRDS. Birds and tennis balls and bumpers. For anyone interested he's open Monday - Friday to give wet sloppy kisses.

Oh, then there's that gal that does the narrating. That's me, Kim! Hi!
Thanks for taking a looksy around the blog. If you hadn't already guessed I compete in Agility with the protagonists mentioned above (and if you hadn't well now you know).

I try to keep the basis of my writing to Agility but there have been moments of sporadic rambling known to occur on here as well. When the dogs and I are not showing or hunting, we spend a lot of time doing tricks and conditioning work oh, and hiking. LOTS and LOTS of hiking. Unless the weathers bad. Then we tend to just run through puddles and get our feet wet.

This blog is a journal following my continued pursuit of Agility excellence. I can guarantee large amounts of recap and improvement based posts (especially post Agility weekends) as well as bits and pieces involving our non-Agility life as well as pictures (Thank you boyfriend for lending me your camera!) and when Agility and pictures just won't do, we do quite a bit of cooking around here too!
